Puzzled as to what to do?

Well I am not the most artistic but I like to think I am quite creative so today we decided to make a puzzle on our favourite theme.

First I drew an outline on some old cardboard packaging I had kept aside and then we sat down together to fill it in on the sofa.

E loves colouring, even if she isn’t the neatest, and she even managed to colour some of my jeans along with the picture but it was lovely to do it all snuggled up together while M napped. A perfect mummy-toddler activity! I also let E chose the colours we would use (with a bit of guidance just so we didn’t end up with an alien bear).

Once we finished decorating our puzzle I took a craft knife to it and E had her tea while she waited asking me constantly:

“Mummy!? Why are you breaking it?”

I probably should have used thinner card but after a bit of a battle I developed a system : I cut it into quarters and used scissors to cut the straight bits that were accessible so I only had to use the craft knife on the fiddly bits. Next time I think I will also shape my pieces a bit more traditionally if I use the thinner card, however I am relatively pleased with the results and so is Miss E

Hope you all had a lovely relaxing weekend too. See you tomorrow.
